艺术阐述
我的艺术创作通过探讨亲密感及物理接触的消失与重建、个人与集体意志之冲突等议题，旨在表达当代社会中人内心的本真。在西方文艺复兴早期湿壁画和中国传统绘画中，我提炼出相似的稚拙，并受此启发建立起个人的绘画风格，用丰满鼓涨、结实确定的造型手法描绘去除了情绪矫饰的人物和略带超现实气息的场景，我试图抓取一些本真瞬间，并将它们凝结为某种永恒。
Artistic Statement
My art practice aims to express the inner authenticity of people in contemporary society by addressing issues such as the disappearance and reestablishment of intimacy and physical touch, and the conflict between individuality and collectivism. By portraying human figures without emotional makeup and depicting scenes with a hint of surrealistic air, I capture some authentic moments and condense them into a certain eternity, using a plump and solid painting style inspired by Western fresco of early Renaissance and traditional Chinese ink painting, which I detect an unadorned and childlike similarity shared by the two.
个人简介
张子轩，女，1983年生于山东济南，自由艺术家，现工作生活在北京和济南。中国人民大学经济学学士，悉尼大学经济学、艺术学双硕士，国家英文报纸CHINA DAILY前记者。2014年成为职业艺术家。2015年赴法国驻留创作。2017年在山东美术馆举办首次个展。同年受邀在中国油画院驻留创作并举办展览。2018年作为首位中国艺术家荣获德国普吕肖城堡国际艺术奖学金，赴德国驻留创作并举办展览。驻留期间受德国国家铁路公司邀请为普吕肖火车站绘制公共艺术装置并永久陈列。2023年入围约翰·莫尔绘画奖（中国）。同年在墨非墨画廊举办个展《她的模样》。
其他获奖及入选包括：保利 “学院之星” (2022)、雅昌 “青年艺术家扶持计划” (2021)、“青衿计划” (2020)、中国油画院及岭南画院个人写生资助项目 (2019)、宝龙艺术大奖 (2019)、山东青年油画展 “优秀作品奖” (2019)、澳大利亚“五年之后 ”国际艺术奖 (2008) 等。
Biography
Zhang Zixuan (b.1983) is a Chinese contemporary artist based in Beijing and Jinan, China. She holds the Bachelor of Economics from Remin University of Chinaand the Master of Commerce and the Master of Studio Art in Painting from The University of Sydney, Australia. The former feature writer of China’s national English-language newspaper CHINA DAILY turned into professional artist in 2014. Zhang was invited for an artist residency in France in 2015. She held her first solo exhibition in 2017 at Shandong Art Museum in Jinan, China. In the same year Zhang was invited for an artist residency and an exhibition at Chinese Academy of Oil Painting in Beijing, China. In 2018, Zhang won the scholarship of Schloss Plüschow Fellowshipas the first granted artist from China, and was invited to Germany for a 3-month residency and an exhibition. During the residency Zhang made a permanent public painting installation for Plüschow Train Station under the invitation of German National Railway Company. In 2023, Zhang made finalist of 2022 John Moores Painting Prize (China). She held the solo exhibition "Her Looks" in the same year at MOFEIMO Gallery in Qingdao, China.
Zhang’s other awards include: Poly Stellardemia Young Artist Program (China, 2022), Artron Young Artist Support Plan (China, 2021), Elite Young Artist Program (China, 2020), Young Artist Funding Program co-hosted by China Academy of Oil Painting and Lingnan Academy of Painting (China, 2019), PowerLong Art Award (China, 2019), “Work of Excellence” of Shandong Youth Oil Painting Exhibition (China, 2019), and “Life After Five” Art Award (Australia, 2008).
